Your Data. Your Property. Your Choice.

Detailed individual property information is private. BURNGRADE does not automatically provide your individual assessment, photographs, personalized roadmap, or identifiable improvement history to insurers, HOAs, contractors, municipalities, or any other third party for their independent use. You control whether to initiate future sharing of your individual property information.

Privacy Policy

BURNGRADE LLC, a New Mexico limited liability company, operates the BURNGRADE platform. This Privacy Policy describes how BURNGRADE collects, uses, and protects information you provide, including your property address, city, state, county, location, assessment answers, photographs, and improvement history.

Your Data. Your Property. Your Choice.

Detailed individual property information is private. Your individual assessment answers, photographs, personalized roadmap, individual BurnGrade, and identifiable improvement history are not automatically provided to insurers, HOAs, contractors, municipalities, or similar third parties for their independent use. You control whether to initiate future sharing of your individual property information.

Community Map

Completed BurnGrade assessments may contribute a color-coded parcel representation to the Community Map. Your exact BurnGrade, assessment responses, photos, roadmap, documented improvement details, and account information are not displayed publicly. A parcel is geographically identifiable, even though private homeowner information is not displayed.

Aggregate and De-Identified Information

BURNGRADE may create, retain, analyze, use, license, and commercialize aggregated and/or de-identified statistical information for research, product improvement, community intelligence, wildfire-resilience analysis, benchmarking, market intelligence, and other analytical products and services. Purchasing aggregate BURNGRADE intelligence does not provide an organization access to the underlying private homeowner assessments.

BURNGRADE does not sell homeowners' private individual assessments, photographs, or identifiable property-level assessment information to insurers or other third parties. Service-provider processing and disclosures required by law or reasonably necessary for security purposes remain permitted.

Photographs and Automated Analysis

During a property assessment or mitigation effort, you may upload photographs of your property. BURNGRADE may use automated tools, including artificial intelligence, to determine whether submitted photographic evidence appears consistent with a reported property improvement. Automated analysis may be inaccurate and does not constitute professional inspection, certification, independent evaluation, or third-party verification. BURNGRADE does not represent its automated tools as independently "verifying" mitigation.

Photo Deletion

You may request deletion of photographs you uploaded, subject to applicable legal, security, backup, and operational requirements. Photo deletion does not automatically delete the associated assessment, roadmap, BurnGrade history, improvement history, or other non-photographic assessment records. BURNGRADE may retain assessment information for legitimate business, analytical, research, scientific, security, and recordkeeping purposes subject to applicable law, and may aggregate or de-identify information where appropriate.

Service Providers

BURNGRADE works with third-party service providers to help operate the platform. These providers may process information on BURNGRADE's behalf in categories that may include hosting and data storage, authentication, mapping and geospatial services, analytics, artificial intelligence, communications, security, customer support, payment processing, and other functions necessary to operate BURNGRADE. These providers are bound by obligations appropriate to their function and are not permitted to use your information for their own independent purposes.

Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your information. You may also request deletion of photographs you have uploaded as described above. Deleting your account does not automatically delete every assessment record; BURNGRADE may retain information as described in this policy. To exercise these rights, contact BURNGRADE at [Contact details to be finalized by BURNGRADE LLC].

Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of the BURNGRADE platform, operated by BURNGRADE LLC, a New Mexico limited liability company. By accessing or using BURNGRADE, you agree to these terms.

Eligibility

You must be 18 years of age or older to create an account or conduct an assessment on BURNGRADE.

Property Authority

You may submit information about a property only if you own the property or have appropriate permission or authority to do so.

The Founding 500 Pilot

The Founding 500 is an early-access pilot. The initial pilot geography is Los Alamos County and Sandoval County, New Mexico. Participants receive the assessment and personalized roadmap offered through the pilot at no charge. Methodology, scoring, recommendations, features, and functionality may evolve during the pilot.

BURNGRADE may introduce future paid assessments or roadmaps, historical assessment storage or access, premium functionality, and other products or services. No future prices are specified at this time.

Acceptable Use

You agree to provide accurate information during property assessments, to use the platform for lawful purposes only, and not to misuse, reverse-engineer, or disrupt the service.

Your Content and BURNGRADE Intellectual Property

You retain any rights you otherwise have in the original information and photographs you submit to BURNGRADE. By submitting content, you grant BURNGRADE the rights reasonably necessary to host, store, process, analyze, and use your submitted content to operate and improve the service and to create permitted aggregated and de-identified information. BURNGRADE does not claim ownership of your original photograph merely because you uploaded it.

BURNGRADE retains its intellectual property in its software, platform, branding, methodology, scoring system, algorithms, analytical methods, derived models, and aggregate and de-identified datasets and intelligence products.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

BURNGRADE LLC is a New Mexico limited liability company. Until finalized, contact BURNGRADE at [Contact details to be finalized by BURNGRADE LLC].

Disclaimers

What BURNGRADE Is — and Is Not

BURNGRADE does not predict wildfire loss or insurance risk. BURNGRADE measures property-level wildfire resilience conditions and improvement progress. BURNGRADE is not an insurer, an insurance rating, a professional property inspection, an engineering opinion, a certification, a guarantee of wildfire safety or survival, or an IBHS Wildfire Prepared Home designation.

No Guarantee Against Wildfire Risk

Even a strong BurnGrade does not guarantee that a property will not be damaged or destroyed by wildfire. Wildfire behavior is unpredictable and depends on many factors beyond property-level mitigation, including weather, terrain, fuel loads, and neighboring properties. BURNGRADE cannot guarantee against the risk of wildfire loss.

User-Reported Assessment Information

The BURNGRADE property assessment relies on information you report about your property. BURNGRADE does not independently confirm all reported conditions and does not warrant that its assessment identifies all wildfire risks on a property.

Not a Professional Inspection

The BURNGRADE assessment is not a certified, professional inspection and does not replace an inspection by a qualified wildfire mitigation professional, your local fire marshal, forestry division, or any inspection required by your insurer or local authority.

Not an Insurance Rating

BURNGRADE is not an insurance company, insurer, or insurance agent. A BurnGrade is not an insurance rating and should not be relied upon as a guarantee of insurability, coverage, or premium pricing. Insurance underwriting decisions are made solely by licensed insurers based on their own criteria.

Automated Photo-Analysis Limitations

BURNGRADE may use automated tools, including artificial intelligence, to determine whether submitted photographic evidence appears consistent with a reported property improvement. Automated analysis may be inaccurate — it may accept incomplete evidence or reject valid evidence — and does not constitute professional inspection, certification, independent evaluation, or third-party verification. Automated results should not be the sole basis for any mitigation, coverage, or pricing decision.

Third-Party and Geographic Data Limitations

Parcel boundaries, addresses, and map data displayed on BURNGRADE are sourced from third-party providers and are provided "as is." Such data may contain errors or be out of date. BURNGRADE does not warrant the accuracy of parcel, address, or geographic data and recommends verifying property details against official county records before relying on them.

Relationship to IBHS

BURNGRADE translates established wildfire mitigation research into an actionable homeowner experience. Our educational content may draw from recognized wildfire-resilience research and standards, including work from the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS). BURNGRADE is an independent platform. A BurnGrade score, roadmap, documented improvement, or milestone is not an IBHS Wildfire Prepared Home designation.

Geographic Coverage

The initial Founding 500 pilot is offered to eligible participants in Los Alamos County and Sandoval County, New Mexico. Outside these pilot areas, assessment features and parcel information may be unavailable or incomplete. BURNGRADE may expand coverage over time.

Platform Provided "As Is"

BURNGRADE is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, BURNGRADE shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use of, or reliance on, the platform, including but not limited to property damage, insurance decisions, or actions taken or not taken based on a BurnGrade.

In an active wildfire emergency, call 911

BURNGRADE is not an emergency notification or evacuation service. During an emergency, follow instructions from authorized local public-safety agencies.

BURNGRADE is an independent third-party wildfire risk platform. Our methodology is modeled on the IBHS Wildfire Prepared Home™ standard, but BURNGRADE is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety (IBHS). BURNGRADE grades are educational assessments, not IBHS certifications or designations.
